Multimedia, Visual Computing and the Information Superhighway

چکیده
multimedia, video, graphics, compression, World Wide Web, medical imaging Multimedia is becoming a mandatory component of most computer interfaces and applications. Medical imaging in particular will be able to exploit these capabilities in concert with data servers that will exist as part of the information superhighway. The ability to connect experts with patients electronically enables care delivery from remote diagnostics to remote surgery. Traditional visual computing tasks such as graphics, volume rendering, computer vision or image processing may also be available to more clinics and researchers as they become "electronically local". Video is the component of multimedia that provides the greatest sense of presence or visual realism yet has been the most difficult to offer digitally due to its high transmission, storage and computation requirements. This paper will address some of the recent innovations in media processing and client/server technology that will facilitate PCs, workstations or even set-topfrV boxes to process and communicate both video and graphics in real-time.

Framework for Collaborative Multimedia Application Based on CORBA
In recent years, as Information superhighway and advancement of computing power, it has been increasing requirements about CSCW that is based on the distributed multimedia. And, because the policy of interaction in collaborative application is implemented in application, application must be implemented again if the policy of collaborative application is changed. It is big problem in environment...
متن کاملTRANSITION TO HIGH SPEED NETWORKS SuperJANET EXPERIENCE
Fig 1: MUNSTER Network Configuration Abstract For the time being, trials to establish the Information Superhighway are booming. In Britain, JANET has provided wide-area computer communication, and has recently been upgraded to SuperJANET, increasing the throughput by a factor of five to 10 Mb/s, with some sites having PDH access at n x 34 Mb/s. In this paper, the technological changes seen from...

Each has a different approach and varying participants, although all pilots are ...
متن کاملEye-Tracking Method’ Usage for Understanding the Cognitive Processes in Multimedia Learning
Introduction: Designing multimedia learning environments should consist of the evidence-based study and principals about the human learning process. Eye tracking is a way based on the learner processing of learning materials which presented in multimedia learning environments. The aim of the study was to examine the use of the eye-tracking method to investigate the cognitive processes in m...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Based Approach for Rate Control in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks
Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) undergo congestion when a link (or a node) becomes overpopulated in terms of incoming packets. In WMSNs this happens especially in upstream nodes where all incoming packets meet and directed to the sink node. Congestion in networks, if not handled properly, might lead to congestion collapse which deteriorates the quality of service (QoS). Therefore, i...
